About DRIFT

ABOUT DRIFT 2006-2017

Created in 2006 by Jorge Lopes Ramos and Persis Jade Maravala, the DRIFT International is an intensive professional development programme for emerging artists. The intensive residency setting provides tools for multi-disciplinary collaboration, opportunities for personal development and experimentation with local audiences.

Through DRIFT International, ZU-UK has mentored over 224 international artists in its 17 editions in over 10 countries. In partnership with inspirational local artists, ZU-UK directors coordinate a series of intensive sessions created to help artists develop their own projects and practice.

DRIFT International residencies provide emerging artists with an opportunity to challenge their own ideas in a diverse environment; to fast-track international partnerships through match-making; and to expand their practice by providing tools and vocabulary to enable collaboration within new disciplines and cultures.

DRIFT INTERNATIONAL 2006-2017
